Hi, my dear ones,
I'm writing to you after a break of several years. A lot has changed in our lives during this time. Due to the help of the turning point of history we caught up with you and are keeping pace with all the other republics of the Soviet Union.
What joy it is for us, young people, to have the opportunity of taking active part in the building of new society and participating in the political life of our country!
And I use this right to the full. I am active in the young communist league, in MOPR [international organization helping the fighters of revolution. (RS)], in the propaganda team of the communist party town committee. This work is extremely interesting and satisfying, though it takes all my free time. And this is why I feel my life has become much more interesting and full. To live and work for the well-being of the society – this is the superior happiness for a person.
But I'm afraid that my intensive political activity interferes a lot with my studies at high school that I have to graduate from this year (11th grade). What will happen next, I don't know. I know only one thing that I don't want to depend on my parents any more. I'm going to work. Where and what – it will become clear later. Possibly in politics.
Otherwise, everything's the same: mom works in policlinics, dad lost his job because of obvious reasons, as Hebrew language is not needed at present. He still hopes to get a job. Dora studies medicine at university. That's all our family news.
This morning (a day off) I worked with other members of the young communist league in the forest. We were sawing trees. My arms are tired a little bit from the 6-hour working day, so excuse me my handwriting.
With best regards
Your Lyova.
